Wool Care
To get the very best out of your woolies, just follow these simple hints and tips for washing and lanolising, and it shall provide your baby with a natural, breathable, and highly effective cloth nappy cover.
Washing:
Your wool cover only needs to be washed when it begins to retain some odour or is soiled.
1. Rinse your cover (turned inside out) under cool running water and gently squeeze out excess moisture.
2. Fill sink with enough hand-warm (not not) water to cover your woolies.
3. Add wool wash of 1/4" (pea sized amount) of lanolin mixed with approximately 1 tsp of baby soap in a small jar of HOT water. Mix into the sink of hand-warm water.
4. Press the cover down into the mixture and let soak for at least 30 minutes (although I let mine soak overnight)
5. Drain the water and gently squeeze the woolies, then roll in a towel to gently remove excess moisture. Reshape and lay flat to dry.
Lanolising:
Depending on how often you use your wool, you will need to re-lanolise between every 1 - 3 months. When you notice it is not as waterproof, it is time to lanolise. Follow the same instructions as washing your wool above, except use approximately 1/2" of lanolin melted in the water.
Unless otherwise specified, your wool will come already lanolised and ready to wear.
